Takes on a black reality

Juni 2009 | Von atsil2 | Kategorie:Read the WorldSadiq, Mubarak and Yunas, three youths who escaped from Darfur, Sudan, wander through the Nachum Gutman Museum of Art in Tel Aviv, examining the works on display as part of the “Hanitzodim” (“The Hunted”) exhibition, in which they have also taken part.
The exhibition is an homage to Gutman’s book “In the Land of Lobengulu King of Zulu – Adventures in Africa,” marking 70 years since its publication; it features works by contemporary artists that focus on the black man as representative of the persecuted refugee. The book’s original illustrations are also on display as part of the exhibit.
