Since John Lennon and the peace-movement of the 60s we know that musicians are efficient ambassdors for peace, tolerance, justice and love.

“Peace is no violence, no frustration, no fear” - The initiative “Make Some Noise” describes John Lennons quote as a lyrical mantra.

“Make Some Noise” is a project of the human rights organisation Amnesty International, which resuscitates the spirit of John Lennons for todays generation.

The kickstart was Yoko Ono’s gift to the organisation: the recording rights for the peace-hymn “Imagine” and John Lennons entire solo-repertoire.

38 high-profile musicians and newcomer talents were invited to re-interprete John Lennons heritage - The outcome are tracks, that can be downloaded on iTunes for the benefit of Amnesty Internationals work in Darfur.

“Make Some Noise. Save Darfur.” is the name of the sampler - a campagne with the goal to win up to a million new supporters and to create awaress for the genocide in Darfur. 99 Cent is the price for the download of one track.,

This gives people, who are not interested to buy the whole sampler the chance to support the initiative on a small scale.

The package targeting all generations includes teen-projects like Tokio Hotel, as well as Aerosmith, The Cure or bands like R.E.M. for the elder - so not everyone will want the whole sampler.

The song “Imagine” has been covered three times. So one can choose between a soft version angel-like sung by Avril Lavigne, recorded together with strings, or an reinterpretation by Jack Johnson, songwriter-style with guitar ora rhythmic version with rockguitar and piano by Rock Duwani.

Everyone can download their favourite by clicking the mouse, active support for Amnesty International to help save Darfur.
